En France, meurent, victimes de leur conjoint, une femme tous les 4 jours, un homme tous les 16 jours. On parle de crime passionnel mais s'agit-il d'un avatar des violences conjugales ou d'une réelle histoire d'amour fou ? Cette analyse psychosociologique porte sur 337 crimes commis entre 1986 et 1993, surtout par des hommes (263, 74 par des femmes) ils ont fait 458 victimes. Loin des histoires romantiques et tragiques de la littérature, ces crimes sont de sordides histoires de famille. Des familles fusionnelles où l'on reste entre soi, ce qui ne fait qu'attiser les passions, les narcissismes, où l'idée d'un destin individuel ne signifie pas grand chose, ce qui engendre de profondes détresses. Même s'il est "annoncé" ce crime passionnel reste difficile à prévenir en raison d'un caractère de pseudo-normalité. Un telle impuissance de la société ne traduit-elle pas une pathologie sociale inquiétante ?
